Matthew Winter - Head Coach

Our Head Coach, Matthew Winter, is currently the 1st Team goalkeeper coach at National League side Woking FC, a position he has held since 2019. He has also been Head of Academy goalkeeping at the club from 2015-2021 where he recently stepped down to concentrate fully on his First Team role. In his time at the club Matthew has brought a number of young academy keepers into the first team set up as well as a Goalkeeper winning Player of the Year in 3 of the last 4 seasons (Nathan Baxter & Craig Ross X2).

Matthew has worked with a number of high profile goalkeepers in recent years such as; Craig Ross (Woking FC), Mark Smith (Woking FC), Nathan Baxter (Chelsea), Jojo Wollacott (Bristol City) and Sam Howes (Dorking Wanderers) as well as number of talented academy keepers coming through the ranks at the club.

Matthew started MGW Coaching in 2013, with the aim to provide professional goalkeeper coaching to grassroots goalkeepers to allow them to develop their skills in a fun and challenging environment. MGW now provides weekly goalkeeper training to keepers at their Centres in both Woking and Basingstoke as well as working with a number of grassroots clubs within Surrey & Hampshire. They also run One to One coaching sessions and regular holiday camps.
